Southeast Kansas Weather
Southeast Kansas enjoys four distinct seasons, but each season can produce a variety of weather patterns. It is not uncommon to see a bright sunny morning turn to stormy weather by evening. Some days will have a sudden temperture swing of 30 degrees or even more.
SEK is also located in what is known as 'Tornado Alley'. These late spring, early summer storms can produce complex weather systems bringing heavy amounts of rainfall, damaging hail and tornadoes. With an advanced storm warning system and a network of trained storm spotters, these violent outbursts seldom are fatal.
